Matchy, matchy...
I finally finished the socks to match the Sakonnet baby hat. I don't know why I found making baby socks with worsted weight yarn on size US 5 needles to be such a pain. But I'm glad that they're done. And in time to be considered my October sock of the month, too.
Pattern: Yankee Knitter Designs "Classic socks for the family"
Yarn: Plymouth Encore worsted in denim and white
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) bamboos
A couple of weeks ago I went to an open house at the Shops at 25 West in Little Falls. The three craft shops that are in this co-op of stores all had door prizes. I naturally signed up for the one in the Pincushion Patchwork yarn shop and I won!
Isn't this gorgeous yarn? It's handspun merino sock yarn from Fat Cat Knits. She's a local spinner. Unfortunately, I don't find any sock yarn on her Etsy site. She does have some great rovings, though. Makes me wish I knew how to spin.
Here's a progress picture on my green Online ribbed socks. I am at the toe decreases of the first sock.
This is another pair that just seems to be taking forever to finish. Probably because I don't work on them. Maybe I'll get them done as my November socks.

What a cute baby set! I think it's fun to do the hat and socks to match. A friend at church is due next month and this is a great inspiration, 'cause I'm sure there will be a shower coming up soon.
The baby socks are so adorable! I love the set! That Fat Cat yarn is really yummy! Such a beautiful colorway! :)
