Still doing socks...

I finished the Sweet Socks the day before Sue's birthday. I think they turned out nice and she seemed to like them. They also counted as my June socks for SAM 6.

Now I'm working on socks for the various KAL's I'm participating in this summer. I started a pair of 2 x 2 ribbed socks in OnLine Supersocke "Tropic" #931 for Summer of Socks.

They are slow going on size US #1 (2.25 mm) needles. This is the first sock of the pair and I'm still working on the foot. I love the colors, though, so they will be finished.

Next up is a pair of Pretty Petal Socks by Jeannie Townsend in Noelle's Noodles Superwash Merino Wool "Candy Rock". This yarn is really soft and knits up beautifully.

The first sock is done and I am on the cuff of the second sock. I'd like these to be the first socks I finish for Summer of Socks.

Next up is a pair of Log Cabin Socks by Anne Woodbury from "Handknit Holidays" by Melanie Falick. I'm using Cascade "Pastaza" #021 on size US 6 (4.25 mm) needles.

I find it hard to work with the bulkier wool when the temperatures are in the 80's so they are hibernating for a while. They will probably be finished when it cools down. I think this pattern will make good Christmas gifts. It's a fun pattern so far.

And the socks I'm actually working on tonight are a pair of toddler socks that I'm trying to finish by midnight so they count as my July socks for SAM 6. I knew I wouldn't finish any of the other socks so I cast on with leftover OnLine Supersocke "Hiking" using size US 2 (2.75 mm) needles. The first sock is done and I have 1" left on the second before I start the toe decreases.

Will I make it?

Yes, I will. But only if I stop writing this post and get back to knitting them. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Sue, your socks are all gorgeous! Love the cabled ones in worsted weight, but I can understand why they're in time out for now. I might have to get Handknit Holidays...
