All Cables, All the Time

The Christmas deadline is looming and I'm still knitting cabled scarves. I finished the Karaoke Scarf in Noro Kureyon and the Classic Cable Scarf from Knit Ponchos, Wraps, and Scarves by Jane Davis in pink Cascade 128.

I started another Classic Cable Scarf in red Harmony wool by Ironstone Yarns.

I have about 52" done and I'm almost through the second skein. I'd like it to be about 70" long so I'll break into the third skein.

Then I'll have to knit like the wind to finish the fourth scarf. I'm not sure what cable pattern I'll use but I'm making it out of Wisdom Yarns "Poems" in a teal blue varigated. I'll post a picture of it after I start it and when I have some decent light. The snow from the Nor'easter we're having is making it a little dark for pictures.

One nice thing about nor'easters, you definitely feel like staying inside and knitting! I did some Christmas shopping yesterday (along with thousands of other people) because I knew today was not going to be a good one for any traveling. I'd post some storm pictures but they would look like all the other storm pictures I've posted so just check my archives for January or February of this year. At least the wind that was gusting so hard earlier has died down. Now there's just a steady snowfall.

I think I'll go watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy with my son. We're decorating the tree tonight which is another perfect activity for a snowy day.
