Charity Knitting

I completed a few charity knitting projects this week. The first one is a toddler hat and mittens going to Project Hope. They deliver things to needy people in Romania.

The earflap hat is one of Kim Hamlin's hats from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" by Joelle Hoverson. The mittens are a 2 needle pattern called BB's Knitted Mittens. Very quick and easy. I used Wool in the Woods Star City yarn in "Lottery". It wasn't very soft until I washed it with some conditioner. Then it softened up nicely.

This next set is going to Pine River Reservation for one of the preschool programs. I'm sending it through the Bundles of Joy group on Ravelry.

The hat pattern is Spiral Rib by Song Palmese. It's an Ann Norling pattern. The mittens are 4 needle. I didn't follow any one pattern but combined a couple different ones. The scarf is the Scrunchable Scarf pattern. I used Lamb's Pride yarn in "Limeade" and "Sun Yellow" for this whole set. The hat and mittens are worsted weight and the scarf is bulky weight.

And finally we have a hat that I made a few weeks ago. It doesn't have a destination yet but I'm sure I will find one for it.

The pattern is Utopia by Smariek. The yarn is Moda Dea Bamboo Wool in the "Bamboo" colorway. This skein was on clearance at Joann's Fabrics so it was very cheap. I also bought one in off white. It took less than a whole skein for the hat.

Now onto some other projects. I am almost finished with another Concentric Stripes cardigan. I also have a baby sleeping bag (bunting) almost done and a pair of fingerless mitts in alpaca. I'll let you know when they are finished!

Here I am

I didn't mean to disappear for so long but as they say "life gets in the way sometimes". But I'm still around and I'm doing okay.

I haven't stopped knitting so I'll post some of my recent projects. This spiral hat was made in 2009 and has been sitting in my "finished" basket waiting to be sent out to a charity.

The Bundles of Joy group on Ravelry is looking for preschool hat, mitten and scarf sets to send to Pine River Reservation and this hat should be the right size. I made the scarf and am in the process of making the matching mittens.

The colors of the scarf in this picture are not accurate. The colors are Limeade and Sun Yellow. The green actually matches the hat. I'll post a picture of the completed set when I get the mittens done. The yarn is Lamb's Pride in worsted for the hat and mittens and bulky for the scarf.

This cute little has is the Little Flap Cap pattern that I love.

The yarn is Di'Ve Zenith in dark purple and pink. It will either be a baby gift or go to charity.

And here is a cute little cardigan that I loved knitting. The pattern is "Concentric Stripes Cardigan" by Melissa Mall. Her web site is Inner Child Crochet>

The yarn is Bernat Berella 4 in Iris, Soft Fern, and Aran. It's 100% acrylic but it's nice and soft. It's my favorite acrylic to use right now. Unfortunately, the LYS that carries it is thinking about switching to Caron Simply Soft which I don't like very much. I hope she keeps the Berella 4.

I intend to make several more of these cardigans. The pattern is a lot of fun and very easy.

That's it for now and hopefully I will be better about posting. But I make no promises.
