Yeah, well...

I couldn't think of a good title for this post so this is all you get today.

Even though I haven't posted in a while, I have been knitting. I finished the plain stockinette socks in Regia Crazy Colors. They turned out quite well.

Then I decided it was time to do some charity knitting. First up are some mittens for the Cheyenne River Reservation Mittenz Blitz 2008. You can read more about the blitz at Ann's Blog.

The first pair was made on 4 double pointed needles and I just winged the pattern using the numbers from my favorite two needle pattern. I used some leftover Patons Canandiana acrylic yarn. They are the same size - the picture is a little wonky.

The second pair was made on 2 straight needles in my favorite 2 needle mitten pattern. I used Patons Classic Wool in "Harvest". This yarn was left over from a pair of toddler socks I made a couple of months ago.

This next pair is still in progress. I found a great 4 needle classic mitten pattern at Free Vintage Knitting. It also has a 2 needle pattern.

The yarn is Lana Gross "Quick Print". I bought 3 skeins of this yarn a couple of years ago and couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it. So I've been making charity mittens from it. I think this is the last skein I have.

All the mitten are sized for approximately 5 - 7 year olds.

And finally we have a beanie made from Patons Classic Wool in paprika and black. The pattern is "Kim's Hats" from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" by Joelle Hoverson. I took the picture this afternoon but finished the hat tonight.

Now I need to finish mitten pair #3. I don't know if I'll get any more pairs done before the late September deadline or not. Believe it or not, I'm starting a new pair of socks in "Bright Orange" from Sprouty25 for a KAL on Ravelry. And is anyone really surprised by this? I'm not.
